Bring a positive energy to educate and engage student and adult groups. Prepare and cleanup program materials in the village and classroom space. |

| How you help | When you volunteer at a Dayton Society of Natural History location like the Boonshoft or SunWatch, you join a team of volunteers who represent multiple ages, interests, and areas of expertise, from former teachers and retired engineers, to teens and college students looking to expand their horizons through volunteerism. The Dayton Society of Natural History has an opportunity for everyone to contribute to meaningful projects and get hands-on while interacting with the community---all while having fun and meeting new people. |

Happy World Meerkat Day!! Commemorated annually on July 3rd, the day's purpose is to raise awareness around these highly popular species. We're proud to house the cutest meerkats in Dayton!
For this #fossilfriday we're showcasing this callipteridium specimen, an extinct genus of seed ferns that existed in the Carboniferous period (359 to 299 million years ago). They were indicative of humid habitats such as along rivers and lake shores. #bmd #boonshoftmuseum #fern
