Our mission

We steward and strengthen Glen Helen for present and future generations, safeguard the ecological, historical, and geological resources within its bounds, and utilize the preserve to offer life-shaping environmental learning to our students and visitors.

The Museum

Guide educational hikes through the Glen
Welcome visitors to the Trailside Museum
Assist with animal care: birds, snakes, and/or turtles
Share your talent/knowledge by leading or assisting with a fun and educational programs for visitors of all ages at the Trailside Museum, on the trails, or other locations within the Glen. *Regular training opportunities available. OCVN participation encouraged.

On the Trails

Be a Guardian of the Glen, assist our Ranger with land preservation and trail maintenance tasks such as:
Trail cleanliness
Graffiti removal
Trail structure maintenance (bird blind, stone paths, bridges, handrails, etc)
Invasive species removal

How you help

We depend on volunteers to carry out the programs, events, and initiatives that help preserve the regional treasure that is Glen Helen. From fundraising to mailings to trail maintenance, volunteer at the Glen, and not only will you participate in our important efforts, but you’ll also have fun while you do it.
