Emergency Food VolunteerThe Emergency Food Program is a year-around effort to provide food and personal items to families needing emergency assistance due to layoff, illness, disability, or insufficient family income. During the summer when school lunches are not available, extra food items are provided to families with school-age children and support is provided to Tipp-Monroe Community Services for the "Lunch On Us" food program. |

| How you help | The Needy Basket depends on volunteers to be successful, and our community has always provided overwhelming support. Support comes from individuals, schools, churches, local businesses and individual grants; all too numerous to mention here. |

| About us | In accordance with its charter, the Needy Basket was founded in 1946 to provide food and other assistance to needy families in Tipp City, Monroe Township, and Bethel Township in Miami County, Ohio. It has been a mainstay of the community ever since. As the community grew so have the demands on the Needy Basket. Requests for food have increased from 522 in 2009 to 1,554 in 2020. The need exists in our community today in spite of a strong national economy. |
