Opportunities

Volunteer as a Gallery Host

Provide opportunities for artist’s work to be seen and purchased. Help guests have a friendly and interesting experience. Be the welcoming face of the YSAC.
Key Responsibilities; open the Gallery, turn on lights, put out advertising i.e. A-Frame, Banner and chalk message on out door chalk board. Greet guests. Talk to guests about the artist/s and about what events are coming up at Arts Council. Record Sales for the Artist. Bring in A-Frame and Banner, turn off lights and lock up the Gallery.

Volunteer as a Gardener

At work own schedule and availability, come help make the YSAC a more beautiful place.

Volunteer as a YSAC Patio Supervisor

Present an appealing front for the YSAC and attract attention to the art space.
Key responsibilities; recruit a Volunteer Gardener or work with a team of Volunteer Gardeners. Coordinate with Gardener/s. Keep patio area tidy-If needed, schedule group trash pick up times with staff and volunteers. Know schedule for our outdoor events and if needed and possible with your schedule, help with set up. Keep stage painted and communicate with Jerome Borchers (President of Arts Council) about refurbishing stage and fence problems.
Position open April through October.

Volunteer as a Special Event Coordinator

Enrich and diversify the arts in Yellow Springs and the Arts Council Season. Have an idea for an art event? Talk to us about it.
Key responsibilities; plan events with the Gallery Committee. Recruit volunteers, talk with guests and hand out promotional paper goods from YSAC, and coordinate Volunteers to help set up and take down the event. Organize schedule for volunteers. Gather art supplies needed from YSAC or from other donators. Create Press Releases for events and send to staff for YSAC FB and Web Site. Be in charge of set up and take down/return supplies on day of event. Check in on activity during the event and provide volunteers with your number in case they need help when you are not there.

About us

The Yellow Springs Arts Council supports local arts infrastructure through program opportunities, publicity, education, fiscal sponsorship, advocacy, and coordinated partnerships across the community. Each year the YSAC supports over 200 local creative workers. The organization began in the 1950’s as the Yellow Springs Arts Association. In 1972, it incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit and adopted the full name, Yellow Springs Arts Council.
