About us | In 1996, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and the Diocese of Cincinnati, generously donated 10.5 acres of real estate for the construction of an all new Y. From 1992-2007, the Y operated the community outdoor pool. In January of 1997, the Wapakoneta Riverview Community Center at 8 North Blackhoof, was donated free and clear as a start-up facility for the Y and was used for programming until closing its doors in November 2009. The building is no longer owned or operated by the YMCA. The building now known as “the Y” opened its doors in January 2000 after raising $2.5 million from the community. |
