“Shawnee Living History Tour”

Caesar’s Ford Theatre, Inc will create a dramatic historical interpretation project entitled the Shawnee Living History Tour which will recount the history of the Shawnee Nation in Ohio through through the performing arts in an outdoor performance venue. Special attention will be placed on historical and cultural accuracy as well as artistic quality. The historical interpretation tour will be performed at actual historical sites in Greene and Clark Counties Ohio. Participants will travel by bus to the various historical locations, attend an outdoor theatre performance at each location, and enjoy lunch at one of Greene County’s best restaurants. The project will be developed in three phases beginning in January 2022 and ending with a full production in the summer of 2023. Phase I: Development Phase will consist of playwright, Kane Stratton, developing a script with consultants who are members of the federally recognized Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma and Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. Phase I has been funded by a generous Arts Resiliency Initiative: Community Project grant from the Ohio Arts Council.  To see a sample of Caesar’s Ford Theatre, Inc’s work, please enjoy the short film Caesar: An American Maroon written and directed by Kane Stratton at https://vimeo.com/483331351.
